Preparations are well and truly under way for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with the draw to be held on Friday.

A total of 29 teams have secured qualification for the main event which will be held from November 21 to December 18 across eight venues.

Earlier in the week, the main Lusail Stadium was unveiled to the public. The stadium has a capacity of 80,000 capacity and will be the venue for the final on December 18.

Then on Thursday, the unique 974 Stadium was showcased. The Ras Abu Aboud Stadium, as it is officially known, has a capacity of 40,000 and is, interestingly, a 'pop-up' stadium built out of shipping containers and which will be dismantled after the World Cup.

The number 974 is significant for two reasons - it is the international dialling code for Qatar and also the number of containers used for the stadium's construction.

The other venues that will be used for the tournament are the Al Thumama Stadium, Al Bayt Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, Education City Stadium, and the Al Janoub Stadium.
