Daniel Ricciardo completed a strong opening day of practice in Monte Carlo for himself and Red Bull Racing as he set the fastest time in the second session ahead of Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix.
The Australian had been quickest in morning practice and he repeated the feat in the afternoon 90-minute period as his time of 1 minute, 11.841 seconds proved to be the quickest as well as being a new lap record at the track.
Teammate Max Verstappen was again best of the rest in second, though the Dutchman did not have a completely smooth session as his front wing survived light contact with Romain Grosjean's Haas.
Red Bull have not won in Monaco since Mark Webber prevailed in 2012, with Ricciardo's second-place finish in 2017 after he had started on pole, as close as the Austrian team have been to success at the race.

Nico Hulkenberg's Renault was best of the drivers not in a Red Bull, Ferrari or Mercedes in seventh, ahead of the McLarens of Stoffel Vandoorne and Fernando Alonso.
The 20 cars were covered by just over two seconds and a competitive weekend appears to be on the horizon.
Qualifying on Saturday takes place at 5pm UAE time with the 78-lap race on Sunday beginning at 5.10pm.
