Rahul Dravid's experience of facing a pink ball for the first time in his illustrious career lasted just five minutes and two deliveries yesterday as he was out for a rare duck.
Playing for the MCC against Nottinghamshire at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi in the curtain-raiser for the English county domestic season, the Indian was trapped lbw by Luke Fletcher, the young English seamer, without scoring as the MCC were bowled out for 218 on day one of the four-day match.
Conditions continued to favour the seamers in the Notts reply as the English domestic champions were reduced to 86 for eight at the close.
Steve Kirby sparked a slump from 19 without loss to 37 for six, and he finished with five wickets.
