Derrick Rose wilts as LeBron James and the Miami Heat beat Chicago Bulls

LeBron James scored 35 points, while reigning NBA MVP Derrick Rose wasted two chances in the final 23 seconds as the Miami Heat edged a 97-93 win over the Chicago Bulls.

Rose scored 34 points for Chicago, but missed a pair of foul shots that would have given Chicago the lead with 22.7 seconds left.

And Rose had a shot to tie in the final seconds, but it bounced off the rim.

Jeff Teague equalled a career high with 24 points despite a sore left ankle as the Atlanta Hawks beat the New Orleans Hornets 94-72.

Danny Granger scored 24 points, and David West and George Hill each had 16 as the Indiana Pacers eased past the Orlando Magic 106-85.

Kyrie Irving scored 23 points, sinking a lay-up with 2.6 seconds left as the Cleveland Cavaliers scored the last 12 points of the game to beat the Boston Celtics 88-87.

At Denver, Chauncey Billups scored a season-high 32 points and drew a crucial foul in the last seconds to help seal a 109-105 victory for the Los Angeles Clippers that ended the Denver Nuggets' six-game winning streak.

Kobe Bryant had 35 points and 14 rebounds and Pau Gasol scored 28 to give the Los Angeles Lakers a much-needed road victory with a 106-101 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Jason Terry scored a season-high 34 points, including four in the last 42 seconds of overtime, as the Dallas Mavericks rebounded after blowing a big lead against San Antonio for a 101-100 victory.

DeMar DeRozan scored 19 of his 27 points in the second half to lead the Toronto Raptors to a 94-73 victory over New Jersey.
