Captain Virat Kohli lauded AB de Villiers' efforts on a sluggish Sharjah pitch as the South African star's 73 helped Royal Challengers Bangalore overpower Kolkata Knight Riders.

Bangalore crushed the Knight Riders by 82 runs after De Villiers went berserk during his 33-ball stay and added 100 runs with Kohli, who made 33.

"Barring one super-human, everyone struggled on that pitch," Kohli said.

"It was unbelievable. I thought I had a few balls under my belt, and I might start striking. He [De Villiers] just came in and struck the third ball, and said he felt good."

Bangalore posted 194-2, a total their bowlers defended by keeping down Kolkata to 112-9 in 20 overs.

Off-spinner Washington Sundar continued his excellent tournament by finishing with 2-20 while leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal ended up with splendid figures of 1-12 from his four overs.

It was a tough result to accept for Knight Riders co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who attended the match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium with his son Aryan.
