One team is definitely out of the race. Another has qualified. As we enter the final phase of IPL 2020, the playoffs scenario is becoming interesting with six teams fighting for three spots.

As is the case ever year, eight wins and 16 points is the magic mark when it comes to qualification for the next stage. However, 14 points have been enough in the past. In fact, Sunrisers Hyderabad made the cut last year with just 12.

This year, the Chennai Super Kings are definitely not in contention having lost eight matches out of 12 so far. Mumbai Indians have qualified and will play the first qualifier with 18 points in the bank.
