India suffered their second major batting collapse in recent times as they were bundled out for 78 on the opening day of the third Test against England at Headingley, Leeds, on Wednesday.
The Indians were shot out for 36 in the pink-ball Test in Brisbane against Australia last year, before they completed a stunning turnaround to seal a series win. In England, it was the other way around as India had entered the third match of the series with a 1-0 lead. But helpful conditions and a rampant James Anderson brought them back down to earth quickly.
Anderson took 3-6 in eight overs, including the wicket of India captain Virat Kohli, who must have regretted his decision to bat first.
Both Sam Curran and Craig Overton took two wickets in two balls after lunch, with Overton finishing with 3-14 in 10.4 overs after being recalled in place of injured quick Mark Wood.
India were 67-5 before losing four wickets for the same score in six balls to be bowled out inside 41 overs. This was India's lowest Test total against England since being dismissed for 42 at Lord's in 1974.
Rohit Sharma (19) and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane (18) were the only India batsmen to reach double figures.

What is Financial Fair Play?
Introduced in 2011 by Uefa, European football’s governing body, it demands that clubs live within their means. Chiefly, spend within their income and not make substantial losses.
What the rules dictate?
The second phase of its implementation limits losses to €30 million (Dh136m) over three seasons. Extra expenditure is permitted for investment in sustainable areas (youth academies, stadium development, etc). Money provided by owners is not viewed as income. Revenue from “related parties” to those owners is assessed by Uefa's “financial control body” to be sure it is a fair value, or in line with market prices.
What are the penalties?
There are a number of punishments, including fines, a loss of prize money or having to reduce squad size for European competition – as happened to PSG in 2014. There is even the threat of a competition ban, which could in theory lead to PSG’s suspension from the Uefa Champions League.
