WBC heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou, the former UFC heavyweight champion, made their grand arrivals in Riyadh on Tuesday evening ahead of their blockbuster fight this weekend.
Billed as 'Battle of the Baddest', Fury and Ngannou are set to face off in a highly lucrative crossover boxing bout in Saudi Arabia on Saturday. Ahead of their showdown, both fighters posed for photos with their team and climbed onto the stage in front of fans and the media.
Fury, unbeaten in 34 professional fights, became a two-time heavyweight world champion in February 2020 when he defeated Deontay Wilder in a rematch after their thrilling first fight ended in a controversial draw. While the contest against Ngannou is an official 10-round professional bout, Fury's WBC title will not be on the line.
Ngannou will enter the ring in Riyadh for his boxing debut having conquered the MMA heavyweight scene. The Cameroonian, known for his brutal power inside the cage, left the UFC last year after winning and then retaining the heavyweight title in his final two fights on the promotion.
Fury, understandably, is a wide favourite and the British fighter is predicting an early stoppage.
“I'm going to knock him out inside six rounds," Fury told TNT Sports. "I’ll get on the front foot, high arm, catch him with a punishing jab, 19/20 stone (120-127kg) in the face. Bust him up, swell his eyes out and bang, KO. On the front foot, not running away.
“No one can take my power, nobody. These heavyweights don’t have a chance.”
Saturday will be Fury's first fight in Saudi Arabia, but he will return to the Kingdom for an undisputed showdown with fellow heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk.
While a date has not yet been set, Fury insists he would be ready to take on the Ukrainian WBA, WBO, and IBF champion before the end of the year.
"We've signed the contracts," Fury told Sky Sports. "December 23, that's out there isn't it? It's only eight weeks away from Saturday. Why not?
"I've not even had a fight this year so get two in before the end of the year would be fantastic. Double payday. There'll be a nice big turkey in the Fury household this Christmas."

Sinopharm vaccine explained
The Sinopharm vaccine was created using techniques that have been around for decades.
“This is an inactivated vaccine. Simply what it means is that the virus is taken, cultured and inactivated," said Dr Nawal Al Kaabi, chair of the UAE's National Covid-19 Clinical Management Committee.
"What is left is a skeleton of the virus so it looks like a virus, but it is not live."
This is then injected into the body.
"The body will recognise it and form antibodies but because it is inactive, we will need more than one dose. The body will not develop immunity with one dose," she said.
"You have to be exposed more than one time to what we call the antigen."
The vaccine should offer protection for at least months, but no one knows how long beyond that.
Dr Al Kaabi said early vaccine volunteers in China were given shots last spring and still have antibodies today.
“Since it is inactivated, it will not last forever," she said.

How Filipinos in the UAE invest
A recent survey of 10,000 Filipino expatriates in the UAE found that 82 per cent have plans to invest, primarily in property. This is significantly higher than the 2014 poll showing only two out of 10 Filipinos planned to invest.
Fifty-five percent said they plan to invest in property, according to the poll conducted by the New Perspective Media Group, organiser of the Philippine Property and Investment Exhibition. Acquiring a franchised business or starting up a small business was preferred by 25 per cent and 15 per cent said they will invest in mutual funds. The rest said they are keen to invest in insurance (3 per cent) and gold (2 per cent).
Of the 5,500 respondents who preferred property as their primary investment, 54 per cent said they plan to make the purchase within the next year. Manila was the top location, preferred by 53 per cent.

What is graphene?
Graphene is a single layer of carbon atoms arranged like honeycomb.
It was discovered in 2004, when Russian-born Manchester scientists Andrei Geim and Kostya Novoselov were "playing about" with sticky tape and graphite - the material used as "lead" in pencils.
Placing the tape on the graphite and peeling it, they managed to rip off thin flakes of carbon. In the beginning they got flakes consisting of many layers of graphene. But as they repeated the process many times, the flakes got thinner.
By separating the graphite fragments repeatedly, they managed to create flakes that were just one atom thick. Their experiment had led to graphene being isolated for the very first time.
At the time, many believed it was impossible for such thin crystalline materials to be stable. But examined under a microscope, the material remained stable, and when tested was found to have incredible properties.
It is many times times stronger than steel, yet incredibly lightweight and flexible. It is electrically and thermally conductive but also transparent. The world's first 2D material, it is one million times thinner than the diameter of a single human hair.
But the 'sticky tape' method would not work on an industrial scale. Since then, scientists have been working on manufacturing graphene, to make use of its incredible properties.
In 2010, Geim and Novoselov were awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics. Their discovery meant physicists could study a new class of two-dimensional materials with unique properties.
