Big things are expected from some of the travelling contingent to the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
Ones to watch this weekend
Rodolfo Vieira
Vieira is the one of the favourites in the competition. He won everything last year, both his weight and the open weight, and went on to win the World Championships a couple of months later. Whoever, if anyone, stops him this year will cause a huge upset.
Kyra Gracie
The niece of Renzo Gracie will make her debut in the tournament. The 26 year old is the first female black belt of the Gracie family. Many are looking forward to seeing her in action, especially since she has proven herself in both the World Championships, with four titles, and three titles in the Abu Dhabi Combat Club's (ADCC) World Championship.
Andre Galvao
The Brazilian, 29, is a multiple world and pan-American champion and had one of his most impressive performances in claiming two golds in the ADCC Submisson Wrestling Championship in England last year. He is renowned for his flamboyant style.
Rafael Mendes
Jiu-jitsu fans in the capital will be hoping the participation of the Brazilian is confirmed as he is considered "the king of the featherweight division". He has been earmarked for greatness since reaching the final of the ADCC Brazilian trials as a 17 year old.
Miyao brothers
The Brazilian brothers of Japanese descent, Joao Ricardo and Paulo Henrique, remind experts of the Mendes brothers. They fight as lightweights and use many of the same moves.
