During this year's Hajj season, which took place in mid-June, temperatures soared to almost 52°C in Makkah, leading to more than 1,300 deaths.
In Egypt, rising temperatures have strained the country's power grid, leading to occasional blackouts. In Lebanon, many people are struggling to cope with limited access to electricity and cooling. While in Iraq, the government has taken the unprecedented step of cutting working hours to help citizens deal with the heat.
