About The National's report Coronavirus: 8,000 UAE volunteers step forward: kudos to the volunteers in the UAE and everywhere across the world. They risk more than people staying at home.

When Dubai Police came through for young Ruby

With regard to Ashleigh Stewart's piece Dubai mum receives personal call from police to help organise time outside for daughter with Down syndrome (April 19): praying for all families with a disabled child. This is hard enough without extra complications.

The logic of crowds and supermarkets

About Anna Zacharias and Ruba Haza's article Coronavirus: fish auctions continue to draw large crowds (April 18): in all fairness, supermarkets, especially small ones, should only allow a certain number of people at a time. They should also have more people at the tills so people go in and out quickly, and not stand in line for long. Staff should change gloves often and clean the till area every 20 minutes.

Seems McKlaire, Abu Dhabi

That’s a good way to boost the economy. Hopefully within a few weeks everyone will be back at work.
