UAE’s initiative to help people who crate hope is a great move
With reference to the editorial Arab Hope makers Dubai backs the right causes (February 22): this was a meaningful and thought-provoking piece. The win by the Emirati gentleman, Mr Al Falasi who was awarded Dh 1million was heartening to read. That his hospital in Mombasa will undergo a transformation with the money awarded to him by the leadership of Dubai is very impressive. As is the fact that past winners have used their award money for noble causes. It is good for society that such philanthropic ideals are mooted by the country. The UAE has demonstrated its helping nature for the downtrodden on a global level.

Regarding Amith Passela's report Abu Dhabi to become first Middle East city to host IFMA World Muay Thai Championship (December 2019): Sara Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh is the first Female Emirati Muay Thai national champion from Abu Dhabi. She won the title on February 22, the first local talent to do so.
As an Emirati, I am proud to see our first local champion in Muay Thai and kickboxing. We need to support local talent for them to flourish and give them due attention.
