Abraham Accords 'overturned' by Hamas and Israeli extremists, senior Emirati official says

A senior Emirati official on Monday warned against the dangers of Hamas and Israeli extremists seeking to "overturn the vision" of the Abraham Accords to bolster peace and stability in the region.
Lana Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs and Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, addressing the Hili Forum in Abu Dhabi, told of how Hamas's terror attack on Israel on October 7 and Israel's subsequent deadly war in Gaza had served to raise the risk of radicalisation.
The accords, signed in 2020 during US President Donald Trump's first term, led the UAE, Bahrain and Morocco to establish relations with Israel.
Ms Nusseibeh said last week that the Israeli annexation of the occupied West Bank would constitute a red line for the UAE and undermine the vision and spirit of the accords.

New residents urged to take up chickenpox vaccine to protect children

Newly arrived families in the UAE are being urged to ensure their children receive free chickenpox vaccinations.
Most chickenpox cases – caused by the varicella zoster virus (VZV) – are quickly shrugged off by most children, with the symptoms being an itchy rash and fever.
However, those with associated health conditions can be struck down with more serious health issues, such as brain infection, pneumonia or life-threatening sepsis.
Now that schools are back in full swing, doctors are encouraging parents who may have recently moved to the UAE to ensure children are fully protected.
