President Sheikh Mohamed and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have emphasised the importance of diplomacy and dialogue in addressing challenges facing the region.

The two leaders set out their countries' commitment to promoting security and stability and pledged to work closely together to pursue a path to peace during a phone call on Sunday.

The discussions come as a ceasefire between Iran and Israel holds firm and the international community hopes for a similar truce to end violence in Gaza.

Both men had consistently called for an end to hostilities after the Iran-Israel conflict erupted last month.

The two men spoke by phone on June 17 to call for calm, as Iran and Israel continued to exchange fire.

During their latest conversation, Sheikh Mohamed and Mr Erdogan also reviewed bilateral ties between their countries and explored ways to build on robust partnerships already in place.
