Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, met Haakon Magnus, Crown Prince of Norway, at the Royal Palace in Oslo on Monday. During the meeting, they discussed ways to further enhance relations between the countries.

Sheikh Khaled concluded the talks by expressing his gratitude to the people of Norway for the warm reception he received during his official visit to the country, which began on Sunday.

He also met Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, with whom he discussed advancing economic, trade, and investment co-operation across key sectors including energy, infrastructure, advanced technology, renewable energy, air transport and scientific research.

This meeting included the signing and exchange of several bilateral co-operation agreements, including an agreement between the General Civil Aviation Authorities of the UAE and Norway to enhance air transport services, the state news agency Wam reported.

An agreement was also signed between Khalifa University of Science and Technology and the University of Tromso which aims to support academic co-operation and research in fields such as artificial intelligence, climate action, the circular economy and renewable energy.

Earlier on Monday, Sheikh Khaled met the chief executives of leading Norwegian companies. It came as part of their participation in the UAE-Norway Investment Forum.

Sheikh Khaled emphasised the UAE's commitment to strengthening economic co-operation with its international partners and said the enhanced collaboration with Norwegian companies across key sectors would open new avenues for economic growth.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court, Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Co-operation, Mohamed Alsuwaidi, Minister of Investment, and Dr Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and managing director and group chief executive of Adnoc, are among the senior Emirati officials in Norway.

The visit comes after Sheikh Khaled this week concluded an official visit to Doha, where he held talks with Sheikh Tamim, Emir of Qatar, and discussed ways to enhance co-operation across strategic sectors. Sheikh Khaled also met Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and emphasised the importance of deepening collaboration in several areas. It was the latest in a series of high-level meetings this year aimed at further strengthening ties between the countries.

Last month, Sheikh Khaled completed an official visit to India and witnessed the signing of partnerships between UAE and Indian groups that extended the UAE-India comprehensive economic partnership agreement established in May 2022.
