An Emirates training plane was involved in an “incident” at the airline's academy in Dubai on Friday.
Nobody was injured in the incident, a representative of the Emirates Flight Training Academy said.
It involved a Cirrus SR22 training aircraft and is being investigated but no further details about what happened were released.
An Emirates Flight Training Academy official confirmed on August 9 “a Cirrus SR22 training aircraft was involved in an incident at the academy”.
“There were no injuries," the official said. "The incident will be investigated and we are fully co-operating with the authorities.”
The academy in Dubai South was launched in 2017 and offers pilot training.
It has a fleet of 30 aircraft, including 22 Cirrus SR22 G6 planes, five Embraer Phenom 100EV aircraft and three Diamond DA 42 jets, according to its website.
The centre also has 36 classrooms, six full-motion flight simulators, an independent Air Traffic Control Tower, and a dedicated 1,800-metre-long runway.
The Cirrus is considered to be the backbone of the training flight. It has a range of about 1,943km and can travel at speeds of 183 knots (340km/H).
An incident involving a Cirrus was also reported by the academy in October last year. The academy said that no one was injured in this incident either and it was fully investigated.
