The museum celebrates the customs and lifestyles of Baghdad’s past residents.

Wax figures depict a scene of life in Baghdad in the past.

The museum has been described as "Iraq's Madame Tussaud’s”, although its focus is not the celebration of famous people.

It has become one of Baghdad's cultural heritage and tourist landmarks.

The museum was damaged during the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.

It was closed for renovations for months in 2020, amid the pandemic.
