Anya Hindmarch paid homage to beloved high-street brands with her latest collection, which she says was inspired by her fascination with “recreating the everyday in the most luxurious way possible”.
The logo of French supermarket chain Carrefour was emblazoned all over neoprene sweatshirts and shoulder bags. Department store John Lewis’s iconography — as well as slogans “Never knowingly undersold” and “Need it in a hurry?” — featured in swimsuits, tote bags and knee-high boots.
Even the logo of Mothercare, the retailer specialising in products for expectant mothers, was used in sweaters, bags and slip-ons. Other featured brands include Nationwide Bank, book shop WHSmith and pharmacy giant Boots.
“The mix of humour and craftsmanship is central to each of our collections,” Hindmarch says. Her clothes indeed had a luxe but lighthearted feel to them.
• The sweaters start at £495 (Dh2,800), while the shoulder bags cost £1395 (Dh7,880). The collection is available for pre-order at www.anyahindmarch.com
