As we all spend our weekend practicing social distancing at home, it’s likely we are spending a little more time on social media than usual as a way to keep in contact with friends.
And while browsing Instagram, you may have noticed a few of your friends posting photographs with the same caption; “Until Tomorrow”.
If you’re left scratching your head wondering what it means, don’t worry, you’re not missing something. This latest social media challenge is supposed to be done with as little explanation as possible.

What is the ‘Until Tomorrow’ challenge?
The Until Tomorrow challenge asks users to find a silly or embarrassing picture of themselves and post it on their Instagram page, leaving it there for a whole 24 hours before it can be deleted. Hence the caption ‘Until Tomorrow’.
How do you get challenged to take part?
If you have unwittingly liked someone else’s Until Tomorrow picture without realising what you were signing up for, expect to receive a direct message from the person’s post you liked challenging you to now take part.
It is likely the message will say something along the lines of, “So…. you liked my post, so you have to post an embarrassing picture of yourself, for the caption you’re ONLY allowed to write “until tomorrow” and you can only tag me.”
Of course, you don’t have to wait to be challenged if you just want to get involved and rope in any of your friends who like your post.
How many people have taken part in the 'Until Tomorrow’ challenge?
So far, there are more than 870,000 pictures on Instagram with the hashtag Until Tomorrow. The challenge has only started to trend over the past week, so there are a lot of people already getting involved.
However, with more than a fifth of the world’s population being told to stay at home due to the coronavirus pandemic, it’s no wonder people are looking for fun ways to spend their time online.
It is just one of many social media challenges and games that have emerged over the past couple of weeks, with social media becoming a lifeline for people who want to connect with friends and family.
