Yogafest Dubai, which was previously set to take place from March 18 to 20, has been postponed.

The annual wellness event organisers announced on social media that it would not going forward in March as planned and that it will instead run from November 11 to November 13.

The post cites Covid-19 restrictions as a reason for the change in dates.

“This announcement comes in line with new regulations issued to us from the Dubai Sports Council in light of the current pandemic,” the post reads. “In a positive light, we are excited to be able to spend more time and planning over the next eight months to create an unforgettable festival in full celebration of 10 years of Yogafest Dubai.”

Passes are still on sale, but are now valid for the November event instead. Meanwhile, those who have already purchased passes can use them in November, but classes will need to be rebooked in September because of changes in the schedule.

The coming event will be the 10th Yogafest, an outdoor festival that has gained in popularity over the years thanks to its packed schedule of educational workshops, classes and health and wellness talks and activities.

In 2020, the event was cancelled owing to Covid-19.

Kat Wightman's tips on how to create zones in large spaces

  • Area carpets or rugs are the easiest way to segregate spaces while also unifying them.
  • Lighting can help define areas. Try pendant lighting over dining tables, and side and floor lamps in living areas.
  • Keep the colour palette the same in a room, but combine different tones and textures in different zone. A common accent colour dotted throughout the space brings it together.
  • Don’t be afraid to use furniture to break up the space. For example, if you have a sofa placed in the middle of the room, a console unit behind it will give good punctuation.
  • Use a considered collection of prints and artworks that work together to form a cohesive journey.

Tearful appearance

Chancellor Rachel Reeves set markets on edge as she appeared visibly distraught in parliament on Wednesday.

Legislative setbacks for the government have blown a new hole in the budgetary calculations at a time when the deficit is stubbornly large and the economy is struggling to grow.

She appeared with Keir Starmer on Thursday and the pair embraced, but he had failed to give her his backing as she cried a day earlier.

A spokesman said her upset demeanour was due to a personal matter.
