The Dubai Fitness Challenge is back for its fourth year. The fitness initiative, launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, is set to run a mixture of virtual and physical events from Friday, October 30 to Saturday, November 28.
The event asks residents across the emirate commit to 30 minutes of exercise daily, for 30 days – which often sees it dubbed the 30x30 Challenge.
What sessions are included in the Dubai Fitness Challenge?
There are thousands of fitness options available to take part in, and the best part is the sessions are all free.
With offerings across a number of categories, from yoga, to Hiit classes, spinning, Zumba and boxing, as well as meditation and nutritional sessions, the events focus on both physical and mental wellness.
Already on the site are a number of virtual sessions for people to take part in from the comfort of their own homes. A 30-day plank challenge, which promotes core strength, fat burning and Hiit circuits with Joe Wicks, cardio kickboxing classes and tabata workouts, are among the many events already listed.
The full 30-day schedule is yet to be announced.
What safety precautions will be in place?
According to organisers, the event will be a mix of virtual and physical events. They said in a statement: "This year’s programme will have in place the highest standards of safety precautions and social distancing measures to ensure Dubai’s residents and visitors can stay connected as they commit to 30 minutes of daily physical activity for the 30 days."
They add that "health and safety of the city’s people remains DFC’s top priority. All events and activities will be held in accordance with the Dubai Government health and safety guidelines."
Gyms and fitness spaces in Dubai have been open with safety measures in place since late May this year.
