Gyms across Dubai have reopened in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. However, there are still regulations in place to ensure the safety of clients while using the fitness facilities.
The studios are slowly returning to normal, with some at 100 per cent capacity, and others still running on a booking-only basis. Here we break down the current rules at major Dubai gyms. Please note, these are subject to change.
Fitness First gyms in Dubai
Fitness First is one of the biggest wellness chains in the UAE, if not the world. The gyms are now more or less back to normal, according to reception booking staff at Dubai Media City facility.
All Dubai Fitness First gyms are running at 100 per cent capacity for members and there is no need to book in advance to use the open gym. Since June 19, the 90-minute time limit has also been lifted.
Booking for classes is still essential.
StudioRepublik
Sheikh Zayed Road gym StudioRepublik still requires booking before the gym and classes can be used. The facilities can be booked well in advance, or with as little notice as 30 minutes, providing there is space at the gym.
Showering facilities and lockers are now open, but you need to bring your own towel.
FitRepublik
Like StudioRepublik, Dubai Sports City's FitRepublik requires prior booking or use of the open gym and classes.

Gold's Gym
Gold's Gym fitness centres are back running at 100 per cent capacity for members. There is no limit on time that can be spent at the various Dubai locations. It is recommended that classes are booked in advance, to ensure a spot.

NRG Fitness
Dubai Marina fitness studio, NRG Fitness is still running classes at a limited capacity. Booking in advance is essential.
The cycling studio currently admits 13 clients, while the Hiit classes accommodate 12.

His life in brief: Born in a village near Galilee, he lived in exile for most of his life and started writing poetry after high school. He was arrested several times by Israel for what were deemed to be inciteful poems. Most of his work focused on the love and yearning for his homeland, and he was regarded the Palestinian poet of resistance. Over the course of his life, he published more than 30 poetry collections and books of prose, with his work translated into more than 20 languages. Many of his poems were set to music by Arab composers, most significantly Marcel Khalife. Darwish died on August 9, 2008 after undergoing heart surgery in the United States. He was later buried in Ramallah where a shrine was erected in his honour.
