Three Israeli airlines are set to launch direct flights between Tel Aviv and Dubai next month.
El Al, Israir and Arkia will start services to the UAE emirate in December, announced Dubai Airports, operator of Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central airport, on Wednesday, November 11.
Israeli national airline El Al will operate twice-daily services via a Boeing 787 Dreamliner; Israir will operate six weekly flights with an Airbus A320; and Arkia will introduce a daily service on a Embraer E-195 E-Jet, Wam reported.
The dates of when the new routes will be introduced, as well as ticket prices, are yet to be confirmed.
The announcement came after Dubai Airport received a delegation of representatives from the Israeli airlines.
"There is a lot of anticipation following the signing of the historic accords and both sides recognise the importance of enabling air connectivity as one of the first important steps to realising those expectations,” said Jamal Al Hai, deputy chief executive of Dubai Airports.
“Both sides are keen to open air travel as a first step towards facilitating people-to-people contact, tourism and trade, and, accordingly, our focus at the meeting was to understand the requirements of the airlines so that we can offer them and our mutual customers – the travellers – the top-class experience that Dubai is known for worldwide.”
A recently signed air transport agreement between the UAE and Israel has allowed airlines in the UAE to begin introducing passenger and cargo flights between the countries.
On October 19, Etihad became the first UAE carrier to operate a commercial passenger flight from Abu Dhabi to Israel. On November 8, meanwhile, flydubai operated its first commercial flight between Israel and the UAE.
The one-off charter flight came before the launch of scheduled flydubai services to the Israeli city on Thursday, November 26. The low-cost airline will fly twice daily to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion airport from Dubai International Airport, becoming the first carrier to operate direct passenger flights between the two cities.
Return fares for flights on the low-cost carrier start from Dh1,600 ($435) in economy class, departing from Dubai. Business class tickets on the same route start from Dh6,000.
A mutual visa-free travel scheme between the two countries will allow Emiratis to travel to Israel for up to 90 days without a visa.

The Emirates Charity Portal
You can donate to several registered charities through a “donation catalogue”. The use of the donation is quite specific, such as buying a fan for a poor family in Niger for Dh130.
The General Authority of Islamic Affairs & Endowments
The site has an e-donation service accepting debit card, credit card or e-Dirham, an electronic payment tool developed by the Ministry of Finance and First Abu Dhabi Bank.
Al Noor Special Needs Centre
You can donate online or order Smiles n’ Stuff products handcrafted by Al Noor students. The centre publishes a wish list of extras needed, starting at Dh500.
Beit Al Khair Society
Beit Al Khair Society has the motto “From – and to – the UAE,” with donations going towards the neediest in the country. Its website has a list of physical donation sites, but people can also contribute money by SMS, bank transfer and through the hotline 800-22554.
Dar Al Ber Society

Dubai Cares
Dubai Cares provides several options for individuals and companies to donate, including online, through banks, at retail outlets, via phone and by purchasing Dubai Cares branded merchandise. It is currently running a campaign called Bookings 2030, which allows people to help change the future of six underprivileged children and young people.
Emirates Airline Foundation
Those who travel on Emirates have undoubtedly seen the little donation envelopes in the seat pockets. But the foundation also accepts donations online and in the form of Skywards Miles. Donated miles are used to sponsor travel for doctors, surgeons, engineers and other professionals volunteering on humanitarian missions around the world.
Emirates Red Crescent
On the Emirates Red Crescent website you can choose between 35 different purposes for your donation, such as providing food for fasters, supporting debtors and contributing to a refugee women fund. It also has a list of bank accounts for each donation type.
Gulf for Good
Gulf for Good raises funds for partner charity projects through challenges, like climbing Kilimanjaro and cycling through Thailand. This year’s projects are in partnership with Street Child Nepal, Larchfield Kids, the Foundation for African Empowerment and SOS Children's Villages. What the law says
Micro-retirement is not a recognised concept or employment status under Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021 on the Regulation of Labour Relations (as amended) (UAE Labour Law). As such, it reflects a voluntary work-life balance practice, rather than a recognised legal employment category, according to Dilini Loku, senior associate for law firm Gateley Middle East.
“Some companies may offer formal sabbatical policies or career break programmes; however, beyond such arrangements, there is no automatic right or statutory entitlement to extended breaks,” she explains.
“Any leave taken beyond statutory entitlements, such as annual leave, is typically regarded as unpaid leave in accordance with Article 33 of the UAE Labour Law. While employees may legally take unpaid leave, such requests are subject to the employer’s discretion and require approval.”
If an employee resigns to pursue micro-retirement, the employment contract is terminated, and the employer is under no legal obligation to rehire the employee in the future unless specific contractual agreements are in place (such as return-to-work arrangements), which are generally uncommon, Ms Loku adds.

Pharaoh's curse
British aristocrat Lord Carnarvon, who funded the expedition to find the Tutankhamun tomb, died in a Cairo hotel four months after the crypt was opened.
He had been in poor health for many years after a car crash, and a mosquito bite made worse by a shaving cut led to blood poisoning and pneumonia.

Why are asylum seekers being housed in hotels?
The number of asylum applications in the UK has reached a new record high, driven by those illegally entering the country in small boats crossing the English Channel.
A total of 111,084 people applied for asylum in the UK in the year to June 2025, the highest number for any 12-month period since current records began in 2001.
Asylum seekers and their families can be housed in temporary accommodation while their claim is assessed.
The Home Office provides the accommodation, meaning asylum seekers cannot choose where they live.
When there is not enough housing, the Home Office can move people to hotels or large sites like former military bases.
