With work from home offering greater flexibility and travel restrictions around the world making short, last-minute trips nigh on impossible, a new travel trend has emerged: the “workation".
In response, Hyatt Hotels has launched The Great Relocate package, to encourage long stays at its properties around the world. In addition to a much-needed change of scenery, the package includes private work areas, complimentary gym access, high-speed internet and an on-hand IT concierge, laundry services, airport or train station pick-up, twice-weekly housekeeping and a 25 per cent discount on onsite dining.
The offer is valid until December 31 for any stay longer than 29 nights. It is open to World of Hyatt members, or those who enrol for Hyatt's loyalty programme on the spot, with prices starting at $1,000 per month, depending on hotel brand, location and room category.
Among those participating in the package is Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas and the Grand Hyatt Dubai.
Guests booking a stay of more than 60 nights will receive a complimentary one room category upgrade, while a three-month booking will result in a second room category upgrade.
“We know there is a strong desire for consumers to travel this year, after many plans were put on hold in 2020,” says Genevieve Materne, Hyatt's senior vice president of commercial services for Europe, Middle East and south-west Asia. “The pandemic has been a major catalyst for the increase in the ‘work from anywhere’ trend, and we know it has accelerated significant shifts in the way we live, work and play.
“The Great Relocate is the perfect offer for all the digital nomads out there and for those who define luxury as not being tied to one place. We are making it more affordable than ever to take a long stay in one of our hotels, for a similar amount you would pay for the average city-centre rent. We look forward to welcoming guests, whether they want to relocate on their own, bring their partner, their family or even their pet.”
The offer is valid across Hyatt hotels in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and south-west Asia, including Alila Jabal Akhdar in Oman.
