Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, is no stranger to travelling around the world.
And on Monday, June 1, he shared an Instagram picture of a boarding pass that said he was flying to London at 7.45am.
The picture shows a first-class Emirates ticket with his name on it: Al Maktoum/ShkHamdan.
He accompanied the picture with the words “coming soon”.
The flight was for any passenger able to travel to the UK.
The Dubai airline resumed passenger flights to eight countries on Thursday, May 21, just before the Eid Al Fitr holiday.
They were the first regular, non-repatriation flights out of Dubai since March 24.
The airline is flying from Dubai to London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Paris, Milan, Madrid, Chicago and Toronto, with a schedule in place until Tuesday, June 30.
There are also flights to Sydney and Melbourne.
In a talk at the virtual Arabian Travel Market on Monday, Emirates airline president Tim Clark said he hoped tourists would begin returning to Dubai from July.
Mr Clark said it would take the airline only 48 hours to prepare for full operations.
The UK is still accepting travellers without requiring them to isolate, but those arriving in the UK after Monday, June 8, will have to isolate for 14 days.
This week, many European countries have started to announce their strategies for opening up to international tourism.
Greece will welcome some international travellers from Monday, June 15.
Malta will reopen to select tourists in mid-July and Georgia, a popular destination for those in the UAE, will start opening up to visitors from Wednesday, July 1.
