If you are staying in the UAE for Eid Al Fitr, which is expected to begin on April 20, there are plenty of ways to add some extra sparkle to the celebrations.
Dubai
Bluewaters Island
Grab a spot in any of the man-made island's water-facing restaurants — London Project, Alici, Shi, etc — for a front-row view of the fireworks it will be hosting at 9pm on the second night of Eid.
Alternatively, catch the show from the waterfront walk or the footbridge connecting Bluewaters Island and JBR.
Dubai Parks and Resorts
The destination with a number of theme parks will put on two fireworks shows on April 22, at 7pm and 9pm.
Other activities include a light show at MotionGate, meet-and-greets with Emirati cartoon characters at Lapita Hotel, and Dino Mania, which will start on April 21 at 8pm and continue for the duration of the Eid weekend.
Global Village
The open-air entertainment venue has prepared a week-long fireworks display for visitors each day at 9pm, from April 21 until 30. The park will then close for summer.
At the venue, there will also be an Eid Market, selling food and drink (including pistachio ice cream), oud, handmade soaps, traditional clothing and paintings by local artists.
Abu Dhabi
Yas Island
Yas Island is hosting a number of celebrations across its theme parks and hotels, including a fireworks display, which can be viewed from Yas Bay at 9pm on the first and second nights of Eid.
Elsewhere, visitors can catch a performance by Saudi singer Abdul Majeed Abdullah at Etihad Arena on April 23 and one by Egyptian singer Mohamed Ramadan live at Yas Links Abu Dhabi on the second day of Eid.
Hudayriyat Island
The capital's adventure and leisure destination will be lit up by fireworks at 9pm on April 22.
If you head there, be sure to check out the family-friendly Circuit X adventure park, the obstacle course at OCR Park or spend a night glamping at Bab Al Nojoum Hudayriyat.
Al Mugheirah Bay
Another Modon development that will host a fireworks show is Al Mugheirah Bay in Abu Dhabi's Al Dhafra region, which is about a 90-minute drive from the main city.
The skies over Khor Al Bazim lagoon in the heart of the waterfront retail and residential community will light up at 9pm on April 21.
Abu Dhabi Corniche
The 8km waterfront venue is putting on a fireworks show to celebrate Eid on April 21 at 9pm.
