Visitors to the Burj Khalifa will have a chance to experience the thrill of scaling the world’s tallest tower to the highest point and parachuting into Dubai Fountain.
Mission 828, coined after the height to the building’s tip, will offer a virtual reality (VR) experience that simulates the “real-feel of scaling all Burj Khalifa’s 160 habitable floors as well as take a hard-knuckle climb to the top of the spire”, according to At the Top.
Head up to levels 124 and 125 to enter into one of seven VR pods. A mission commander will provide instructions while riding the elevator in VR mode to the 160th level. Users will feel the gravity-defying ride up and collect suction globes to ascent to the spire. Once up top, the next step is grabbing the parachute for a free-fall, adrenaline-rush ride into the dancing fountains.
“It has been carefully simulated to take users on a nerve-wracking four-minute journey that will give them a feel of what it is like to ascend and descend the tower in the most adventurous fashion,” the company said.

Room scale tracking technology is used, enabling people to move in 3D space while interacting with the environment with motion-tracked hand-held devices. At the Top said that the pods also come equipped with a wind-effect.
The VR experience costs an additional Dh35 per person on top of the At the Top regular ticket prices at Dh125 per person and Dh500 for the Burj Khalifa Sky.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
