He may only be four months old, but Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is already enjoying his first royal tour. The young son of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has accompanied his parents to South Africa this week. The tot joined the duke and duchess for his first engagement today, where the trio met former archbishop and Nobel Prize winner Desmond Tutu and his wife at their charity foundation in Cape Town. A rare glimpse of Archie was provided by the Sussexes, who shared two Instagram Stories of their first-born as they arrived at the location. The newborn, wearing blue dungarees and a white baby-grow, was cradled by Meghan, and was captured smiling broadly. "Arch meets Archie," the clip was captioned. It's one of the first times the Sussexes have shown footage of their son, who was born on May 6 in London. Prince Harry and Meghan are currently three days into a 10-day tour of southern Africa, marking Archie's first official overseas visit. The duke will also make a short visit to Malawi, Botswana and Angola, though the duchess and their son will not accompany him. This trip is Prince Harry and Meghan's second overseas tour since marrying on May 19, 2018. The royals undertook a three-week visit to Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand last October, shortly after announcing they were expecting their first child. The duke and duchess yesterday visited a mosque in Cape Town's Bo-Kaap district, where they saw the country's oldest copy of the Quran. As part of the visit, the pair met "well-wishers from different faith groups". Earlier in the day, the couple visited Monwabisi Beach to take part in mindfulness and wellness activities with volunteers from a foundation called Waves for Change. The initiative uses surfing to provide mental health support and services to young people in need. On their first day in the country, the couple paid a visit to the the Nyanga township, where the unemployment rate is among the highest in South Africa. While in Nyanga, they chatted to children and adults, after watching a workshop that works with young children in the area. Meghan reportedly opened up about her transition into parenthood while joining Shaamiela and Ibrahim Samodien for tea in Bo-Kaap on Tuesday. “They mentioned Archie and said how wonderful he is and he’s a wonderful traveller," Shaamiela told reporters after the visit. “Meghan was speaking about motherhood and the transition and said that Archie was a good traveller," added family friend Waseefa Majiet. “She said the transition was quite smooth because he’s an easy baby and he was an easy traveller."
