iSpy: BMW opts for four doors on its new 6 Series

BMW first unveiled the 6 Series Concept Gran Coupé last year and it hasn't taken long for the production car to take shape, as you can see from this spy shot. The low-slung vehicle marks the first time that BMW has ventured into the world of four doors with its 6 Series. This image shows that the Gran Coupé has the same front and rear bumpers as the existing 6 series models F12 and F13, and this car is substantially longer than the normal coupé and convertible. The Concept Gran Coupé unveiled last year was more than five metres long, while the standard 6 Series is 4.9 metres. This spy shot suggests a similar increase in size. BMW is apparently so fond of the Gran Coupé idea that it's already looking into another version, based on the next 3 Series. This car might be called the 4 Series Gran Coupé and an M4 Gran Coupé is also being considered. Expect this good looking 6 Series to hit showrooms sometime in 2012.
