Cranking gift idea
There is a multitude of motoring memorabilia out there and so it's difficult to pick just three items but we've tried our best. First up is this original F1 Ferrari crankshaft with carbon fibre base and certificate from the head of Scuderia Ferrari. It would make for an unusual coffee table item but it would certainly get people talking. Dh18,850. store.ferrari.com.
Last post-er on the Bugatti
After Ettore Bugatti died in 1947, his company quickly floundered and ceased production in the early 1950s. This poster (there is a batch) is the very last original poster published by Bugatti before the factory in Molsheim closed in 1952. They've been well preserved and would look striking on any wall. Money-spinning
Exclusivity is a big part of being a collector so they are often looking for rare items. And you don't get much rarer than the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato. Only 20 of them were made and the cars are now worth a fortune. So to own a small part of that in the form of these cool wheel spinners is a collector's dream. automem.com. Dh14,750.

WHAT IS GRAPHENE?
It was discovered in 2004, when Russian-born Manchester scientists Andrei Geim and Kostya Novoselov were experimenting with sticky tape and graphite, the material used as lead in pencils.
Placing the tape on the graphite and peeling it, they managed to rip off thin flakes of carbon. In the beginning they got flakes consisting of many layers of graphene. But when they repeated the process many times, the flakes got thinner.
By separating the graphite fragments repeatedly, they managed to create flakes that were just one atom thick. Their experiment led to graphene being isolated for the very first time.
In 2010, Geim and Novoselov were awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics.
