Headline news

Bonnets and boaters, cloches and caps, fascinators and fedoras - hats in every size, shape and style are the ultimate topping this season. Plus, with the Dubai World Cup around the corner, any fashionista worth her weight in millinery knows a show-stopping hat is the only way to ensure you stand out from the crowd. Luckily for us girls and our stylish mums, the BurJuman International Millinery Exhibition starts on Thursday. The largest and only exhibition of its kind in the region, the event brings together the most extensive collection of designer headgear. Exhibitors this year include the celebrity favourites Marilena Romeo, Walter Wright Ltd, Christiane Edmondson, Liza Georgia, Jacqueline Kolbe and John 3v3 Hats, as well as the locally based talent Nazgul Nejmi.

The millinery exhibition will be on display at South Village, BurJuman from 10am-10pm, March 22-31; www.burjuman.com

When it comes to organising your accessories, less is more, because the clearer you see them the more likely you are to wear them. This box from 2XL does just the thing, so spare your mother the hassle of picking out her bling every morning with this delicate gift from the store's new branch in Marina Mall.

HOW DO SIM CARD SCAMS WORK?

Sim swap frauds are a form of identity theft.

They involve criminals conning mobile phone operators into issuing them with replacement Sim cards, often by claiming their phone has been lost or stolen

They use the victim's personal details - obtained through criminal methods - to convince such companies of their identity.

The criminal can then access any online service that requires security codes to be sent to a user's mobile phone, such as banking services.
