The Hot List: Bring a worldly style to your space

Telling tales

Our favourite source for Scandinavian design, the Ordning & Reda store in DIFC, has been rebranded as D.tales, transforming what started off as a small stationery provider into a fully fledged Scandinavian design store. It features all our favourite contemporary Scandinavian brands, including Muuto, Design House Stockholm, SagaForm and Sjöö Sandström. There's also a fabulous new web store to go with it. Online shoppers can choose from more than 1,000 products, including furniture, lamps, carpets and one-off accessories, and have their purchases delivered within 24 hours.

D.tales is now open in Precinct Building 2, DIFC, www.design-tales.com

Small fry

Kylie Jackson came up with the idea for Wall Fry while living in Dubai. She was pregnant with her first son and searching for nursery art that was colourful and appealing, but also stylish. She struggled to find what she was looking for, so decided to make her own. Kylie, who has since moved back to her native Australia, now sells a charming collection of nursery art, from the adorable Woodland series, with its cast of cutesy forest animals, to the Typography series, which includes inspiring and practical messages. New to the collection is this trio of Russian dolls. Never mind the kids, we'd be happy to hang this in our own bedrooms.

Planting the seed

Bring the outdoors in with Mathieu Lehanneur's award-winning Andrea air filter. Andrea utilises the natural absorptive and metabolic properties of living plants to remove toxic gases such as formaldehyde from the home. It's the first of its kind and a novel way to introduce a touch of greenery. The plant is sold separately.

Quintessentially English

A new collection of fine bone china products by Royal Albert is now available at Bloomingdale's Home. The range is inspired by the English country rose and features a colourful and eclectic mix of statement floral pieces. Five new floral themes fuse vintage shapes and retro patterns, with on-trend twists such as polka dots and rose confetti. We're coveting the Blue Polka collection.
