One of the main problem areas in a bedroom is an overcrowded wardrobe. Squeezing clothes into a jammed wardrobe becomes arduous, so you end up piling things on a chair or on the floor. A clear wardrobe has many benefits. Here are some tips to get started on a wardrobe purge:
Focus on one area at a time - a shelf or a hanging rail - and pull everything out of that section.
Be ruthless. Assess how often you wear something and how it makes you feel. Try things on and take a good rear-view look - either using strategically placed full-length mirrors or a handheld mirror and a full-length one.
The first group of things to get rid of is easy - anything you've not worn for at least a year.
We all have a wardrobe staples that we gravitate towards, such as a white shirt or black trousers. Infinitely useful of course, but unless it's your daily uniform and you never wear anything else, you've probably got far more than you need. Weed out the ones that don't flatter or fit properly.
Make a list of what you need and stick it in your bag so it's on hand the next time you go shopping.
