Planning on eating out in the UAE this week? From new menus to great deals, there are plenty of places to choose from. Here is all the foodie news you need to know about this week: The Market at Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City offers complimentary meals five times a week for children under 12. For each paying adult, two young guests who attend the restaurant’s weekly theme-night dinners, which run on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, as well as its Friday brunch, can eat for free. The Italian, Indian and Asian menus on the first three days of the week cost Dh195, while seafood night on Thursday is for Dh255 and The City brunch costs from Dh300. The latter also has a supervised children’s play area, cooking classes, movie corner, and arts and crafts desks. Nikkei cuisine, a blend of Peruvian and Japanese, is the star of a food pop-up at Jumeirah Al Naseem, Dubai, and offers a winning combination of all things mizo, yuzu, truffle and lime. Kayto includes outdoor seating, a live DJ and views of the Burj Al Arab. Head there for sundowners from now until March , and enjoy dishes including yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno; roasted langoustines in a sweet and sour sauce and miso-caramelis ed aubergine; saikyo miso black cod; Australian Wagyu beef tataki; corn-fed chicken breast with truffle teriyaki sauce; and cheesecake bru lee served with mandarin sorbet or espresso glace. The youngest Italian chef to earn two Michelin stars, Enrico Bartolini is the chief culinary adviser at Roberto’s, and makes frequent visits to host dinners in the UAE. This year, the chef will cook and host a five-course menu in the Abu Dhabi (Rosewood) and Dubai (DIFC) branches of Roberto’s, on Thursday, October 17 and Saturday, October 19 respectively. The dinner costs Dh495 and includes slow-cooked Chilean sea bass with fennel and saffron; beetroot risotto with Gorgonzola, walnut and amarena cherry; breaded veal chop with white truffle; and baked strawberry meringue. At this feast, a roaming food trolley prepares lobster thermidor and truffle risotto at your table, while you decide the superfood you want to include in your poke bowl. Elsewhere, gourmet favourites, such as smoked veal belly, slow-roasted Wagyu, Peruvian chicken breast and grilled vegan carrot dogs, lie in wait. Welcome to the Chef’s Brunch aka The Great Exhibition. The market-style meal involves an army of chefs from Giornotte restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal, cooking live for guests every Friday, from 1pm to 4pm, from Dh299. As party restaurants go, Tokyo Vibes at Soho Garden is the place to let your hair down. Cool tunes from the DJs aside, head chef Roy Kim has developed a new menu that will appeal to Japanese food fans. Additions include fresh tuna crudo with ponzu dressing, mango salsa and w akamomo Japanese mountain peach; charcoal robata dishes such as Wagyu strip loin, tenderloin steak and miso black cod served with asparagus, deep-fried leek and hajikami; c aterpillar vegan maki rolls; and yuzu cheese cake and chocolate fondant. The cooler months are ideal to book a spot on the lantern-decked terrace of Bangkok import Mango Tree, which is nestled away on the plaza level of Hilton Dubai The Walk in JBR. The bistro introduced its first Bangkok Street brunch this month, and it's a bona fide Thai feast. On offer are: grilled beef salad; watermelon salad with dried shrimps; mini shrimp and fish balls; crispy larb chicken wings, corn fritters; satay chicken with peanut sauce; crispy wok-fried chicken with cashew nuts; and the signature green chicken curry. The dessert station keeps up the street-food vibe with mini portions of mango sticky rice and delicious red ruby water.
