K-pop superstars BTS have collaborated with McDonald's to create a meal based on the band members' signature order.
The BTS Meal, as it's called, will include 10-piece chicken nuggets, medium World Famous Fries, medium Coke and sweet chilli and Cajun dipping sauces inspired by popular recipes from McDonald's South Korea.
The menu "tour" kicks off on May 26 in America, before it goes global, hitting nearly 50 other countries across the world, including the UAE, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar.
UAE customers will be able to order the BTS Meal through the McDonald's App, Drive-Thru and at all McDonald's restaurants from Tuesday, June 1, until Monday, June 28.
This will be the first time since the fast-food chain launched its celebrity signature orders series that a meal will be available worldwide.
"The band has great memories with McDonald's," said BTS's label, Big Hit Entertainment. "We're excited about this collaboration and can't wait to share the BTS Meal with the world."
Other countries on the list include Australia, Israel, India (Mumbai and Delhi), Cyprus, Morocco, Indonesia and the Philippines.
"No matter who you are, everyone has a go-to order at McDonald's – even international superstars like BTS," said Walid Fakih, General Manager at McDonald's UAE. "This band is truly a global phenomenon with a fanbase that knows no borders."
The restaurant's celebrity meal programme, which takes a star's signature order, debuted in the US in 2020, with a meal from Travis Scott featuring a Quarter Pounder with cheese and bacon. The collaboration was a success, partly because it became a TikTok trend in which fans recorded themselves pulling up to the drive-thru, stating some variation of, "You know what I want" and often blasting the rapper's Sicko Mode.
A second collaboration featured a meal based on Colombian singer J Balvin's favourite items.
Both of these collaborations involved merchandise, so it's quite possible there will be some new products for the BTS Meal, too, although details on that have not yet been revealed.
BTS is comprised of members J-Hope, Jimin, Jin, Jungkook, RM, V and Suga. Together, they are the best-selling artists in South Korean history, and this year became the first K-pop group to ever be nominated for a Grammy.
They're no stranger to brand collaborations, having partnered with the likes of Hyundai, Fila, Skechers, Samsung, Starbucks Korea and Baskin-Robbins in the past.
Mattel, the company behind Barbie, has also released seven BTS dolls for each of the band's members, as well as a themed Uno card game.

What is the FNC?
The Federal National Council is one of five federal authorities established by the UAE constitution. It held its first session on December 2, 1972, a year to the day after Federation.
It has 40 members, eight of whom are women. The members represent the UAE population through each of the emirates. Abu Dhabi and Dubai have eight members each, Sharjah and Ras al Khaimah six, and Ajman, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain have four.
They bring Emirati issues to the council for debate and put those concerns to ministers summoned for questioning.
The FNC’s main functions include passing, amending or rejecting federal draft laws, discussing international treaties and agreements, and offering recommendations on general subjects raised during sessions.
Federal draft laws must first pass through the FNC for recommendations when members can amend the laws to suit the needs of citizens. The draft laws are then forwarded to the Cabinet for consideration and approval.
Since 2006, half of the members have been elected by UAE citizens to serve four-year terms and the other half are appointed by the Ruler’s Courts of the seven emirates.
In the 2015 elections, 78 of the 252 candidates were women. Women also represented 48 per cent of all voters and 67 per cent of the voters were under the age of 40.
