With all the awards lining her trophy cabinet, it's no surprise that Meryl Streep is something of an old hand when it comes to walking the red carpet.

After all, the American actress, 71, has had decades to perfect her awards-season style, having received her first Oscar nomination back in 1978 for The Deer Hunter.

And it's not just Prada you'll find in her wardrobe.

Streep, known for her intuition and versatility on screen, also echoes that approach on the red carpet, moving from bohemian prints and relaxed separates to sleek block-colour gowns with ease.

The actress, who made her film debut with 1977's Julia and has gone on to star in the likes of Sophie's Choice, The Iron Lady and Doubt, can also be relied upon to break away from the season's trends, often donning avante-garde tailoring when everyone else is in floaty chiffons and romantic lace.
