Kate Middleton typically relies on a rotation of Britain's most noted designers when stepping out in public, however, this week the Duchess of Cambridge took style inspiration from the Middle East.
The royal sported an intricate, ankle-grazing dress by Lebanese couturier Elie Saab on Tuesday, as she attended Royal Ascot with husband, Prince William, and assorted members of the Royal Family.
The duchess embraced the famed horse race's dress code in the powder-blue midi number, which featured lashings of lace, a dusting of embroidery across its sheer sleeves and pleated skirt, and a demure pussybow neckline.
The design is believed to be a custom version of a dress from Saab's Resort 2019 collection, and appears to mark the first time the royal has worn a piece by the Damour-born couturier. The duchess has previously worn white gowns by Dolce & Gabbana and Alexander McQueen for appearances at Ascot.
Catherine teamed the elegant Elie Saab dress with a hat by British milliner Philip Treacy, which brought a summery edge to proceedings with its bloom of flowers nestled under the brim.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the opening day of Royal Ascot, one of the world's most noteworthy races, which is held in the English town located just south of Windsor.
Also in attendance to watch the action on the track was Queen Elizabeth II, along with the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Charles, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, was also in the UK for the occasion, during which Godolphin's Blue Point won the King’s Stand Stakes for the second year in a row.
The royal was presented a trophy by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during the event.

Tearful appearance
Chancellor Rachel Reeves set markets on edge as she appeared visibly distraught in parliament on Wednesday.
Legislative setbacks for the government have blown a new hole in the budgetary calculations at a time when the deficit is stubbornly large and the economy is struggling to grow.
She appeared with Keir Starmer on Thursday and the pair embraced, but he had failed to give her his backing as she cried a day earlier.
A spokesman said her upset demeanour was due to a personal matter.
