Kate Middleton has once again shown her love for the high street during her latest royal engagement.
Stepping out to meet students at the University of Derby in the UK, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a chequered, wool coat ($399) and a pastel blue cable-knit cashmere sweater ($219), both from Massimo Dutti.
She paired the look with high-waist black trousers and heeled pumps, topped off with a protective floral-print face mask from Amaia Kids. She was also sporting her customised gold pendant necklace that features the initials of her three children – Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2.
The duchess visited the university on Wednesday to talk with students about how their mental health has been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. In particular, she spoke with first-year students, nursing students and sports teams.
The visit comes ahead of World Mental Health Day, which falls on Saturday, October 10. Kate, as well as her husband, Prince William, is a vocal advocate for mental health awareness.
Earlier this year, she launched Our Frontline, a mental health initiative designed to help emergency workers and hospital staff battling the pandemic.
Tips to stay safe during hot weather
- Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water. Avoid alcohol and caffeine, which can increase dehydration.
- Seek cool environments: Use air conditioning, fans, or visit community spaces with climate control.
- Limit outdoor activities: Avoid strenuous activity during peak heat. If outside, seek shade and wear a wide-brimmed hat.
- Dress appropriately: Wear lightweight, loose and light-coloured clothing to facilitate heat loss.
- Check on vulnerable people: Regularly check in on elderly neighbours, young children and those with health conditions.
- Home adaptations: Use blinds or curtains to block sunlight, avoid using ovens or stoves, and ventilate living spaces during cooler hours.
- Recognise heat illness: Learn the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke (dizziness, confusion, rapid pulse, nausea), and seek medical attention if symptoms occur.
