Harry Styles has made history as the first man to grace the cover of US Vogue alone, featuring in a high-fashion gender-neutral photoshoot for its December issue.
The images see the Adore You singer pose in an English countryside setting, wearing kilts, vests, blazers and dresses.
In the cover shot, he is wearing a black blazer over a white dress, both by Gucci, while blowing up a blue balloon. He was styled by Camilla Nickerson for the shoot.
In one image, Styles is sat with his sister, Gemma Styles, for a family portrait with a field in the background, which they planned to surprise their mother with. He is wearing a Martine Rose coat, Margaret Howell jumper sweater and checked Marni trousers, while she wears a Chopova Lowena dress and Church’s shoes.
On Instagram, writer and eyewear designer Gemma wrote: "The first man to appear solo on the cover of American Vogue. So proud of who you are. Thanks for asking me".
"My mum loved to dress us up," Gemma tells Vogue in the accompanying story by Hamish Bowles.
"I always hated it, and Harry was always quite into it. She did some really elaborate papier-mache outfits: She made a giant mug and then painted an atlas on it, and that was Harry being 'The World Cup.' Harry also had a little Dalmatian-dog outfit, a hand-me-down from our closest family friends. He would just spend an inordinate amount of time wearing that outfit. But then Mum dressed me up as Cruella de Vil. She was always looking for any opportunity."
"As a kid I definitely liked fancy dress," Harry told Bowles. "There’s so much joy to be had in playing with clothes. I’ve never thought too much about what it means – it just becomes this extended part of creating something."
The images were taken by New York photographer Mitchell, best known for his 2018 Vogue cover photo of Beyonce.

- Oculus VR: Palmer Luckey founded Oculus VR in June 2012, when he was 19. In August that year, Oculus launched its Kickstarter campaign and raised more than $1 million in three days. Facebook bought Oculus for $2 billion two years later.
