The Queen of Cannes has arrived.
Sharon Stone swept into the French Riviera on Wednesday night, staking her claim as the best-dressed guest of the entire festival, not only the evening.
The Basic Instinct star attended the premiere of The Story of My Wife in a bucolic Dolce & Gabbana creation. The off-shoulder gown, which trailed reams of sky-blue tulle, was adorned with exaggerated applique blooms, giving her the appearance of a Disney princess stepped off screen.
"This is what dreams are made of," Stone, 63, captioned a shot of herself on the red carpet, which she posted to Instagram.
The actress was joined by models Poppy Delevingne and Hana Cross at the premiere of the romantic drama, a film set in motion when a man declares he will marry the next woman to walk into a bar.
The movie, directed by Ildiko Enyedi, stars French actress Lea Seydoux, who was forced to cancel her planned appearance at this year's Cannes Film Festival after testing positive for Covid-19.
The annual cinematic celebration, which runs until Saturday, has delivered night after night of glamorous red carpets since it began on July 6.

Also in front of the cameras on Wednesday was actress Tilda Swinton, who attended a screening of French drama Les Olympiades, along with Inglourious Basterds star Melanie Laurent.
Cannes, now in its 74th year, brings together some of the film industry's most highly anticipated titles, as well as some of the silver screen's most famous faces.
The festival, which was this year delayed from its usual May dates, was cancelled entirely in 2020, owing to the pandemic. This year, Cannes has introduced an advance booking system for screenings, those attending from outside the EU must submit to regular Covid-19 testing, and mask-wearing is mandatory.

Some of Darwish's last words

His life in brief: Born in a village near Galilee, he lived in exile for most of his life and started writing poetry after high school. He was arrested several times by Israel for what were deemed to be inciteful poems. Most of his work focused on the love and yearning for his homeland, and he was regarded the Palestinian poet of resistance. Over the course of his life, he published more than 30 poetry collections and books of prose, with his work translated into more than 20 languages. Many of his poems were set to music by Arab composers, most significantly Marcel Khalife. Darwish died on August 9, 2008 after undergoing heart surgery in the United States. He was later buried in Ramallah where a shrine was erected in his honour.
