With malls across the UAE partially re-opening, some people may be considering visiting one.
However, it's important to note that entertainment destinations such as cinemas and gyms remain closed, face masks are a must, physical distancing protocols must be followed and the maximum time permitted in the mall is three hours. Stores will also have to operate at 30 per cent capacity, meaning there might be a wait to get into a shop if it has reached that limit.
Yet for those who need to get their essential shopping done, here’s a look at some of the establishments now open across the UAE and their daily timings:
In Dubai
BurJuman
The mall is now open from noon to 10pm, with extended hours for essential services within the mall.
City Centre Deira
Open from noon to 10pm. Carrefour hypermarket within the mall will operate from 9am to 10pm daily.
City Centre Mirdif
Open from noon to 10pm. Carrefour hypermarket within the mall will operate from 9am to 10pm daily.
Dubai Festival City Mall
The mall and its food and beverage outlets are open from noon to 10pm. Money exchanges will be open from 10am to 10pm and the hypermarket will be open from 8am to midnight.
Dubai Mall
Open daily from noon to 10pm. Supermarkets within are open from 10am to 10pm; and pharmacies are open from 10am to 7pm.
Dubai Marina Mall
The mall and its food and beverage outlets are open daily from noon to 10pm.
Dubai Outlet Mall
Open daily from noon to 9pm.
Ibn Battuta
The mall and its restaurants are open from noon to 10pm daily, with pharmacies open from 9am to 10pm and Mediclinic open from 10am to 5pm. The supermarket is open from 8am to midnight on weekends and 9am to 10pm on weekdays.
Mall of the Emirates
Open daily from noon to 10pm. The Carrefour within the mall is open from 9am to 10pm daily.
Mercato Shopping Mall
Open daily from noon to 10pm, with the Spinneys within operational from 8am to 10pm.
Nakheel Mall
The venue on Palm Jumeirah and its restaurants are open daily from noon to 10pm. Supermarkets and pharmacies are open from 8am to 10pm; and money exchanges are open from 9am to 10pm.
Times Square Centre
Open from noon to 9pm.
Wafi Mall
Open from noon to 10pm. The Carrefour within the mall is open from 9am to 10pm and the pharmacies are open from 9am to 10pm daily.
In Abu Dhabi
The Galleria Al Maryah Island
Operating hours in Ramadan will be from noon to 9pm daily. Waitrose and Boots Pharmacy will be open from 9am to 10pm.
Yas Mall
The mall will be open from noon to 9pm. Supermarkets and pharmacies will be open from 9am to midnight.
Al Jimi Mall in Al Ain
The mall will be open from noon to 9pm. Supermarkets and pharmacies will be open from 9am to midnight.
In Sharjah
City Centre Sharjah
The mall re-opened on Sunday, May 3, and will operate from noon to 9pm. Carrefour hypermarket will operate from 9am to 10pm daily.

The rules on fostering in the UAE
A foster couple or family must:
- be Muslim, Emirati and be residing in the UAE
- not be younger than 25 years old
- not have been convicted of offences or crimes involving moral turpitude
- be free of infectious diseases or psychological and mental disorders
- have the ability to support its members and the foster child financially
- undertake to treat and raise the child in a proper manner and take care of his or her health and well-being
- A single, divorced or widowed Muslim Emirati female, residing in the UAE may apply to foster a child if she is at least 30 years old and able to support the child financially
