First Look: Futuristic children's edutainment destination woo-hoo! to open in Al Quoz

There's a brand new children's destination coming to Dubai, and it is all about mixing education with entertainment. Woo-hoo!, described as an "edutainment museum", is set to open on Thursday, November 5. It is launched by the investment fund Immersive Experiences. The expansive space, located In Al Quoz, can accommodate as many as 200 to 250 individuals. The idea behind the concept is to provide children up to the age of 12 and their families with meaningful experiences that stimulate development. The attractions focus on building key skills – from problem solving to critical thinking through topics like science, math, art and crafts. It also has activities that help strengthen children’s bonds with each other and their families. The space will provide children with educational experiences through 10 interactive galleries. The little ones can jump, play, climb and learn through galleries like Splash Lab, Splatter Studio, Up & Away, woo-town, toddler's treehouse, A-maze!, Amplify, Cave Explorer, Creative Space and Clever Climber. Each gallery of the museum has interactive exhibits designed to spark children's curiosity, imagination and innovation while delivering clear learning objectives. The space also has changing and nursing rooms, private function rooms and an on-site cafe called The Nest where people can pick up refreshments and artisan coffee. In the near future, woo-hoo! will hold programmes and events such as parents’ classes and camps. According to Mohamed Ali, co-founder and managing partner at Immersive Experiences, this is especially important for families and the community today. "Now, more than ever, we know the parenting community is still navigating around all the educational issues for Covid-19 and we believe our venue not only allows children to play and have fun, it also ensures that they are learning key skills as they go," he says. "Our 10 galleries, and the hands-on exhibits within, have been curated with key learning objectives in mind; move, imagine, explore, examine and connect. Through art, engineering, music and technology, children will be able to develop a wide range of skills at woo-hoo! including critical thinking and creativity." The venue will be undertaking Covid-19 safety regulations including temperature checks, admission capping, two-metre social distancing and hand sanitiser installation. Masks must be worn at all times for guests above the age of four and online bookings are encouraged. Prices start at Dh110 for a child and adult; Dh30 for every additional adult; Dh40 for every additional hour per child; and Dh30 for a child under the age of one and an adult.
