On November 4, 2010, the world's largest theme park opened in Abu Dhabi.
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi grew out of the sand on Yas Island with construction starting in January 2009. The famed structure would soon change the city's skyline thanks to the creation of its gigantic gleaming red domed roof.
Over the past 10 years, the amusement park has continued to evolve with more new rides and attractions being added, meaning that the mostly indoor park is now home to more than 30 rides.
The theme park has also been busy breaking Guinness World Records over the past decade – four of them to be exact. Among these, is the title for having the world's fastest rollercoaster. The Formula Rossa zips around the park reaching speeds of up to 240 kilometres per hour. More than 59 million people have already taken a spin on it.
The park has also drawn celebrity attention – with 135 stars having paid a visit since it opened its doors. Among these were US rock band The Killers, Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc and Manchester City footballer David Silva to name a few.
With a brand new Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Roof Walk and Zip Line opening as part of the park's 10-year celebrations, it looks like there's still plenty more to come from Ferrari World in the years ahead.
To celebrate its tenth birthday, Ferrari World is offering all UAE residents 50 per cent off the cost of a day pass, or a discounted season pass from now until December.
The park was also one of the first attractions in Abu Dhabi to be given the emirate's Go Safe certification. This means that all safety protocols and hygiene procedures are being adhered to throughout the amusement park.

What is a calorie?

French business
France has organised a delegation of leading businesses to travel to Syria. The group was led by French shipping giant CMA CGM, which struck a 30-year contract in May with the Syrian government to develop and run Latakia port. Also present were water and waste management company Suez, defence multinational Thales, and Ellipse Group, which is currently looking into rehabilitating Syrian hospitals.

- Jebel Akhdar is a two-hour drive from Muscat airport or a six-hour drive from Dubai. It’s impossible to visit by car unless you have a 4x4. Phone ahead to the hotel to arrange a transfer.

Expo 2020 Dubai will be the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia
The world fair will run for six months from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021.
It is expected to attract 25 million visits
Some 70 per cent visitors are projected to come from outside the UAE, the largest proportion of international visitors in the 167-year history of World Expos.
