Disney Infinity to draw on company's vast hoard of characters

The new game Disney Infinity features characters from Disney's impressive stock, from Buzz Lightyear to Jack Sparrow.

Skylanders' toy and video game mash-up is quite addictive, and now Disney is lining up characters from its impressive stock for Disney Infinity.

Pick up a toy, put it on the "Infinity Base" (sold in a starter pack with three figures) and hey presto, that character turns up in a Disney-themed game (Monsters University or Pirates of the Caribbean, for example).

The Incredibles, Wreck-It Ralph, Jack Sparrow, Buzz Lightyear - they're all there. And with rumours the Marvel and Star Wars universes could be added, Disney has made itself a money-printing machine.
