Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor: Proud parents Prince Harry and Meghan reveal baby name

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have introduced their newborn baby boy to the world - and revealed his name as Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Stepping out in Windsor, England, the couple showed their son off for the first time, beaming as they did so.

Baby Archie was also introduced to The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh. The infant is the eighth great-grandchild of 93-year-old Elizabeth, Britain's longest reigning monarch.

Prince Harry was holding Archie, as Meghan Markle told reporters being a new mum is "magic" and "pretty amazing", adding: "I have the two best guys in the world".

When asked if he is sleeping well, the new mum added, "Yes, he has the sweetest temperament. He's really calm." To which Prince Harry laughed, "I wonder who he gets that from!"

The family greeted reporters in St George's Hall at Windsor Castle.

According to Meghan they are "still trying to figure out" who he looks like. Harry added: "Everyone says babies change so much in two weeks, so we are monitoring how the changing process happens in the next month really ... his looks are changing every single day, so who knows."

Harry then joked that he "already has a little bit of facial hair".

"It's great, parenting is amazing. It's only been two and a half days but we are just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy and to be able to spend some precious times with him as he slowly starts to grow up," Harry told reporters.

"He's just been a dream. It's been a special couple of days," the Duchess said.

Off for the Queen's name approval 

Now two days old, the new royal was born at 5.26am UK time on May 6, 2019 weighing 3.2 kilograms. He was delivered in London's Portland Hospital.

As Harry and Meghan left, it was revealed that they were on their way to see Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip with their baby boy.

Meghan mentioned that her mother, Doria Ragland, had been with them and implied she had already met the newborn.

On the day of his birth, Prince Harry had an informal photocall, telling reporters: "I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy early this morning."

He added that his new son is "absolutely to die for" and that he is "over the moon", adding: "Mother and baby are doing incredibly well."

"It's been the most amazing experience I can ever possibly imagine," the visibly delighted new dad went on to say. "How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, but we're both absolutely thrilled."
