A pyjama subscription service has launched in the UAE delivering you fresh nightwear each month

The subscription service we didn’t know we needed has launched in the UAE – PJs Every 30 Days.

As the name suggests, it's a service that will deliver a new pair of box fresh pyjamas straight to your door, every month, as well as four beauty or pampering products, such as bath bombs, face masks, and even hair scrunchies, providing everything needed for perfect relaxation.

Irish expatriate Laura O'Leary, who has a background in fashion design, came up with the idea when her husband was struggling to find the perfect gift.

“I am a self-confessed pyjama addict through and through,” O’Leary explains. “Last Christmas, when my husband was struggling for a present, I requested twelve pairs of pyjamas, so I would have a new pair every month. That is what triggered this business idea, and I have been working on the concept ever since.”

The idea is very simple. A subscription service (with a variety of sign-up options) will see a pair of brand new, specially designed pyjamas and four beauty items delivered to your front door.

What makes this really interesting, however, is that the exact contents of each box is kept secret, to maintain a sense of anticipation. “Everyone receives the same box, during the last week of the month, and each month's pyjamas have a different design, which we don't share in advance to create that surprise element," O'Leary explains. "We also don't share what pamper treats will be in the box as we are trying to recreate that 'Christmas Day' feeling every month.”

Putting her fashion background to good use, O’Leary is also responsible for creating the pyjamas. “I design the pyjamas myself and have a range of patterns and styles planned, from cosy t-shirt and legging sets right through to luxe satin collared styles,” she explains.

Aimed very much at women, the site vows to supply pyjamas “designed for ultimate relaxation”, as well as pamper products “hand-picked to make you go to bed feeling like a queen and waking up ready to take over the world”.

Perhaps best of all is that this can be bought for a loved one or friend as a gift, making it ideal for Ramadan or for those struggling with quarantine.

“I think it's safe to say the majority of us women love pyjamas, especially during this time when we are spending more time at home,” O’Leary says.

With four packages to choose from (with wry names such as "The Commitment Phobe" and "Marriage Material"), as well as free delivery across the UAE, this might well be the ideal gift for those in need of some "me-time".

“We are also targeting the males who are looking for a unique, thoughtful gift for the woman in their lives – they can buy a one-off box or sign up to a subscription package for 'the gift that keeps on giving', as we say.”

Four motivational quotes from Alicia's Dubai talk

“The only thing we need is to know that we have faith. Faith and hope in our own dreams. The belief that, when we keep going we’re going to find our way. That’s all we got.”

“Sometimes we try so hard to keep things inside. We try so hard to pretend it’s not really bothering us. In some ways, that hurts us more. You don’t realise how dishonest you are with yourself sometimes, but I realised that if I spoke it, I could let it go.”

“One good thing is to know you’re not the only one going through it. You’re not the only one trying to find your way, trying to find yourself, trying to find amazing energy, trying to find a light. Show all of yourself. Show every nuance. All of your magic. All of your colours. Be true to that. You can be unafraid.”

“It’s time to stop holding back. It’s time to do it on your terms. It’s time to shine in the most unbelievable way. It’s time to let go of negativity and find your tribe, find those people that lift you up, because everybody else is just in your way.”
