A look at Dragon Mart 2 Arabian-bazaar themed Ramadan Market - in pictures

Night markets are just one part of the holy month that many of us look forward to each year, but an all-day market is also something to celebrate.

The Arabian-themed Ramadan Market at Dragon Mart 2 in Dubai began before the holy month, offering shoppers the first chance to find gifts, homewares and other items needed to prepare for the coming weeks as well as for Eid Al Fitr giving and festivities.

With an Arabian tent majlis as the centrepiece, and a henna artist on hand with free henna designs for guests, the market captures the ambience of the traditional grand bazaars, including great deals on items from spices and Arabic sweets to fashion and jewellery.

Shoppers can enjoy the wide variety available, and the best-selling products are said to be abayas, perfumes and household goods. Items specific to Ramadan include serving trays, prayer mats and Arabic sweets, and there are special items for the home and family such as picture frames, vases, candelabras, lanterns and even comfortable pajamas for children and adults.

There are approximately 20 vendors participating, with local and imported products on hand, and bargaining for best prices is welcomed. Food is available in the mall's restaurants at regular hours before Ramadan, and after iftar during Ramadan.

Real estate tokenisation project

Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.

The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.

Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
