Qatar Airways has signed a multi-million dollar advertising deal with the business-news station CNBC.
Under the terms of the deal, the airline will place ads on CNBC's network in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (Emea) region, as well as in the US.
A spokesman for CNBC said the channel brokered the deal directly with Qatar Airways. It was a described as a "multi-million dollar international commercial deal" that will span this year and next.
The advertising campaign is designed to promote Qatar as a alternative to Europe as a travel hub, according to a statement sent to The National.
"This is a significant, international deal with Qatar Airways which brings together our mutual influential and affluent audiences across TV, print and online," said Paul Maraviglia, CNBC's vice president for sales in the Emea region.
Qatar Airways and CNBC signed a similar advertising deal in early 2009, according to press reports.
