ABU DHABI // Etisalat internet services were unavailable for some users across the UAE on Wednesday morning.
The telecommunications company said that customers in various locations across the country faced disruption to their internet services because of “network modernisation and upgrades.”
Etisalat said service was fully restored later in the day.
Residents who called the customer service hotline were being told to wait four hours.
“I suffered little internet disruption this morning on my e-Life and my data package,” said Malek Chakifi, an engineer in Dubai. “The internet was very slow early morning then became better around 7.45am.”
He said internet access in his office was also slow but web access on his phone was working.
Etisalat also said the power cut could cause problems to landline internet and mobile internet services between 8am and noon on Wednesday.
Scores of UAE residents took to Twitter to complain about the service disconnection.
Some users reported no interruption in Etisalat service, while others said they experienced only early morning disconnection.
