The UAE technology firm Injazat has joined forces with India-based Larsen & Toubro Infotech to accelerate digital transformation in the region, the companies said in a statement on Monday.

The agreement will help Abu Dhabi-based Injazat to add “considerable depth to its digital innovation ecosystem”, the company said.

“The announcement positions Injazat to meet the demands of today’s fast-paced, technology-focused economy,” Khaled Al Melhi, Injazat’s chief executive, said.

“Injazat’s new global delivery model places digital solutions at the centre of its offering and is designed to help public and private sector clients navigate the opportunities of digital disruption,” he added.

The company said its service delivery model will provide Injazat’s customers with a mix of options including onshore and cloud data storage. It will also improve Injazat’s wider digital delivery ecosystem, the data systems provider said.

LTI will also help Injazat drive efficiencies and improve its ability to incubate and scale digital innovation quickly, it added.

The drive to transform the economy and digitalise operations presents a $160 billion opportunity in the Middle East and North Africa region, Mr Al Melhi said, citing Gartner data.

This year, businesses in the Mena region are on track to increase IT budgets across all segments with spending on enterprise software expected to achieve the highest growth, Gartner said.

Overall, IT spending in the region is expected to total $160bn this year, an increase of 2.4 per cent from last year, according to the US-based research company.

“Our partnership with Injazat will enhance performance and competitiveness of enterprises seeking digital and cloud-based transformation,” said Sanjay Jalona, chief executive and managing director of LTI.

“We look forward to bringing industry and technology expertise along with global delivery capabilities to companies in the region,” he added.

Injazat’s refurbished offering builds on projects such as Malaffi, a partnership with Abu Dhabi's Department of Health to connect more than 2,000 healthcare providers, and Hassantuk, a collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Interior to install and operate smart alarm transmission equipment in UAE buildings.
